Common Data Sets

What is the Common Data Set?

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort between four major college guide publishers and the higher education community to develop a standard set of questions and data definitions for use in surveys that gather information for college guidebooks, rankings and other resources for prospective students. The purpose is to improve the quality and consistency of information, while easing the burden on colleges who receive many survey requests each year.

The four publishers who have provided the leadership for this initiative are: The College Board, Peterson's, U.S. News, and Wintergreen/Orchard House

The following is the Common Data Set (CDS) responses for Cal Poly Humboldt.
